Hebburn Community Tri-Station
Hebburn Community Tri-Station is the first of its kind in Tyne and Wear, housing the Fire Service, Northumbria Police, and North East Ambulance Service under one roof.
The station is home to a heavy rescue appliance, staffed by trained crews from Hebburn and South Shields. Equipped with specialist cutting and lifting tools, it handles complex incidents like large vehicle collisions, train crashes, building collapses, and large animal rescues.

South Shields Community Fire Station
Located along the coast, South Shields Community Fire Station is uniquely positioned to address safety challenges associated with its environment. It is equipped with a specialised support vehicle designed to access hard-to-reach areas, such as the cliffs along The Leas, and is home to our rope rescue teams.
The station’s community safety centre serves as a hub for youth engagement, hosting both the King’s Trust Programme and the Fire Cadets. Facilities include a 120-seat auditorium with modern presentation capabilities and a 12-seat meeting room, ideal for community and organisational use.
