At the heart of the station is a well-equipped community safety centre, featuring a 60-seat auditorium with cutting-edge presentation facilities and a versatile meeting room, perfect for both community and organisational use. In addition, the station proudly hosts the King’s Trust Programme.

Marley Park Community Fire Station
Marley Park Community Fire Station provides vital services to a diverse area, encompassing domestic properties and prominent landmarks, including Stadium of Light, Monkwearmouth Hospital, University of Sunderland (Parts of the Campus).
A fully equipped, 60-seat auditorium is available for hire within the station, ideal for meetings, presentations, and community events. Operated by the Salvation Army, Marley Park is home to a support unit, essential during emergencies, and a full-time NEAS Paramedic Unit.

Washington Community Fire Station serves primarily residential areas and is also responsible for Nissan, Europe’s largest vehicle manufacturing plant. The station is shared with the North East Ambulance Service, which operates two appliances from the site, and the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
The station features comprehensive community safety facilities, including a 60-seat lecture room for events and training.
