What is TEAM?
TEAM is a free, action-packed 12-week personal development programme for 16–25-year-olds without full-time employment, education or training. It’s your chance to discover hidden talents, take on new challenges and grow into the best version of yourself.
Designed to boost your confidence, motivation and employability skills while setting you on the path to success, this programme is an amazing way to meet new people and build your CV.

Who can join?
If you’re aged 16–25 and without full-time work, education or training, TEAM is for you!
Professionals or family members working with young people can also reach out to see if the programme is a good fit for someone they know.
Cost? It’s FREE!
TEAM is completely free and won’t affect any benefits you receive. Travel costs? Don’t worry, they’ll be reimbursed, too!
Where does it happen?
TEAM runs in three locations across Tyne and Wear at community fire stations:
- Farringdon (Sunderland)
- South Shields
- Washington
When does it start?
Courses take place three times a year – in January, May, and September – and run for 12 weeks.

What you’ll do?
- Connect with supportive staff and teammates through fun icebreakers.
- Experience an adventurous residential week, including abseiling and raft building.
- Lead a meaningful community project to make a difference locally.
- Gain hands-on work experience.
- Write a CV, practice interview skills, and set life goals.
- Participate in a team challenge to support your community.
- Explore topics like wellbeing and future planning.
- Meet fire crews and check out firefighting equipment.
- Create unforgettable memories!
