Fire Service to host a Regional Women’s Development Day

Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service (TWFRS) is to host a development day – entitled ‘Learn Develop Lead’ for women working in the fire and rescue services across the North East and Scotland.

On Tuesday 17 March operational (firefighters) and non-operational women who work in fire and rescue services, will attend presentations and participate in workshops with the aim of supporting development in their roles, encourage them to consider progression in their careers, and provide an insight into some of the specialisms within fire and rescue – such as urban search and rescue. The event will also offer an opportunity for them to strengthen their leadership skills and to network with fire service colleagues in the region and beyond.

Area Manager for Community Safety, Lynsey McVay
