Fire stations
Hebburn Tri-Station is home to a heavy rescue appliance that can be staffed by trained crews from both Hebburn and South Shields stations.
This appliance has specialist cutting and lifting equipment which can be used at incidents such as traffic collisions involving large vehicles, train crashes, large animal rescues and building collapses.

South Shields Community Fire Station was the first of the purpose built stations built by Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service.
Its coastal location presents a number of safety risks. The station is home to a support vehicle for accessing hard to reach incidents in areas such as the cliffs on the Leas.
Its community safety centre houses our Prince’s Trust Team programme and the Fire Cadets. It offers a 120 seat auditorium and a meeting room for 12.
