COBRA is a cutting-edge fire suppression system, designed for rapid response and maximum efficiency. Utilising advanced water mist technology, COBRA effectively combats fires while minimising water damage and reducing environmental impact.

How does it work?
The COBRA system operates by delivering a high-pressure water jet that transforms into ultra-fine droplets. This creates a cooling effect that rapidly reduces temperature, suffocating the flames in the process. The versatility of COBRA makes it ideal for a wide range of environments, including industrial facilities, commercial buildings, and even residential properties.
Who uses it?
All frontline fire appliances in Tyne and Wear are equipped with the COBRA extinguishing system. Additionally, the system can be deployed from the platform at the top of our aerial ladder appliance, providing enhanced operational flexibility.
What are the benefits?
When is COBRA used?
Firefighters will deploy the COBRA system when interior access is unsafe or there is no immediate threat to life or property. It is particularly useful in situations where a more defensive approach to firefighting is required, such as in derelict buildings or areas where structural integrity is compromised.
