Still time to apply for wholetime firefighter recruitment course
There’s still time to apply for the next wholetime firefighter recruitment course with Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service.
Applications for the 2021 recruitment course opened on 26 October and there’s just a few days left in the recruitment window to apply.
The role of a firefighter is by no means dull or repetitive – the job includes delivering safety messages across our community, carrying out home safety checks, along with attending a variety of emergency incidents including water and road rescues using the most up to date equipment and clothing.
Chris Lowther Chief Fire Officer at Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, said: “If you’ve always dreamt of becoming a firefighter or you’ve never considered it before but think it could be the job for you, we’d love to hear from you.
“Such a varied role, needs a varied workforce and we welcome applications from all sectors of the community.
“I am proud to work with such talented individuals who strive to make our community safe and I look forward to welcoming our new recruits next years from this recruitment campaign to be part of our fire family.”
The first stage of the recruitment process is an online application form including a supporting statement which tells the Service why you are suited to the role and what skills, qualities and experience you can offer.
Applications are open until 15 November and a detailed applicants guide is available on the Service’s website. Successful applicants will then undergo a 14-week training course which will start in April 2021. For more information please visit www.twfire.gov.uk/firefighter
